Here's What You'll Need
You must prepare a one minute monologue to perform.
A picture of yourself (a school photo or home snapshot will do). If you've performed before or would like us to know about any special skills you have (sing, play a musical instrument, dance, juggle, speak a second language), put that information on a piece of paper with your name, address, phone number and age, and bring that with you too!
If you've done this before, bring along your current headshot and performing resume.
Since all of our shows are musicals, we'd like you to sing for us at the audition.
We prefer that you bring sheet music but we will allow you to bring a karaoke cd.
Please dress appropriate to dance. Please do not wear sandals or skirts. Remember, the key to a great audition is being prepared!
After the Audition
You will be notified by phone or by mail if you are "called back." If you are, you will be given a day and time to come back to the theatre. You will read scenes from the script along with others.
If you are not called back, do not be discouraged. Often times, we simply don't have enough parts for the many people who audition, and auditioning is a matching process. It is important that we carefully match individual actors with scripted characters that have specific qualities envisioned by the playwright.
Don't give up! Remember: Auditioning takes practice too! The more you audition, the more comfortable you will be, and the more you will learn.
Make sure your name is on our mailing list, so you will receive our newsletter with notification of upcoming auditions, productions, and our fantastic workshops.
If You Are Cast
You will be expected to attend all scheduled rehearsals. Rehearsals are typically scheduled on Tuesday and Thursdays 4:00 to 6:00pm, and every day beginning the two weeks prior to the show opening.
For more information about the audition process, participation costs, expected volunteer hours, costumes, time commitment, rehearsal hours, etc. visit our Audition FAQs.
